The Paramount Coffee Project

By Takeeatfoodblog
This is my second visit to 'The Paramount Coffee Project' and I think second time round I like it better than my first visit :P The menu has drastically changed and PCP has definitely gotten very creative and inventive with their March 2014 menu! My friend always loves going to cafes and I thought I would introduce her to PCP and her first reaction to the menu was that it was extremely unique. Seriously, naming a dish 'Ugly Dog' and serving up a childhood Easter Show favorite of a corn dog aka. dagwood dog, I don't things can get anymore unique than that! Being the little piggies we are we ended up ordering 3 dishes: 'Ugly Dog' (corn dog with pork crackling), chicken in a bag (fried chicken with watermelon) and jaffa waffles.

"Ugly Dog" | Corn dog w/ pork crackling
The classic dagwood dog brings back so many childhood memories, especially all the carnivals I went to namely the Easter show! This quirky dish was served with extra sour cream sauce, corn and tomato for garnish and on the side, pieces of pork crackling sprinkled with chilli powder. The outer batter of the corn dog was light and fluffy, however it fell of the sausage very easily and got quite messy to eat. This dish was delicious, it was not overly salty and the sausage was juicy and moist!

Chicken in a bag | Fried chicken with watermelon | $16
Chicken and watermelon together!? whattt... my two favorite things- fried chicken and watermelon! I know this is quite a popular combination in the States and I never thought of combining it. The combination is very strange as the fried chicken is hot and the watermelon is cold. The chicken comes in a bag which you pour the seasoning in and then you shake, shake, shake!!! I was quite disappointed because there was only four pieces of chicken and I was paying $16 for it, it was definitely tasty but not worth it! I'm pretty sure 4 pieces of chicken and 3 slices of watermelon does not cost $16..a bit of rip off... oh but the novelty of it...

Jaffa Waffles | Choc-orange ice-cream, chocolate waffle, citrus syrup and crushed jaffa | $15
The Jaffa Waffles looked pretty as a picture and it was definitely Instragram worthy :P (follow me on: @vmyc_) However I think the batter of the waffles was different from the original waffles batter, this batter tasted like wheat? oat batter? I have no idea but it did taste different. The choc orange ice cream went well with the soft waffles. The citrus cyrup was way to sweet and quite overpowering, it did spoil the dish a little bit. The classic jaffas added a nice garnish to the dessert dish.
The service at PCP is always very good, the waiters are extremely polite, quirky and friendly! They are also very quick to notice when you need help and taking your order. The atmosphere is very chilled and laid back, it is a great place to unwind and get away from your busy schedule! The food was definitely not disappointing at all and I am very impressed by the unique menu that PCP produce monthly- keep up the good work! :D

Also it is great to blog again! :) Missed me? :P

Happy eating x
