The One Closet Hack Every Working Girl Needs

If the state of your wardrobe at the end of a work week is utter chaos, we can help. While it is a great idea to have your outfits sorted for the coming week. let's all agree that is an ideal scenario. Between making time for running errands, catching up with friends and putting your feet up before the Monday blues start to set in, there is hardly any time.

Our closets are full of Black & White so if these two colors don't add up to a substantial share in your wardrobe, you should stop reading now. So, What can you do? Divide your closet into two separate areas to store clothing and if space permits, use two closets. If you are wondering "Oh great, Now I have 2 closets to mess up with and stare at first thing in the morning", Hold your horses.

Display your Black and White and Grey (The Neutrals) on one side of your closet and keep all the colors on the other side (This includes Clothing, Shoes and Accessories). If you would like to go one step ahead, arrange the colorful wardrobe by color or on the basis of patterns/solid colors.

Keep the original organization in both the sections - I prefer stacking up my tees and jeans at the top of the closet. My accessories are usually on display based on the current season which makes it easy to pick out something in a hurry.

This is a time consuming task but at the end of it, you will be able to do three things

1. You will know how many Black & White pieces you have.

2. You will know what you want to keep and what you don't (You might even find a few pieces you bought but never wore)

3. Next time you go shopping, you will have a much clearer picture of what you want to buy and what you don't want to buy. (In my case, another black top)

The other benefit of segregating your closet in this manner is you will get creative with your outfits and are more likely to experiment with accessories, shoes and layers. Here are things you can expect to happen with time and some practice.

A Simple Pants and Tee Uniform transformed with the addition of a Parka and whimsical jewelry.

Mixing and Matching Black and White Prints and the last minute addition of a bright accessory (in this case a handbag)

Pairing Menswear (an Over sized Shirt, in this case) with more feminine high end pieces and adding quirky accessories.

Layering, like a Boss even when it's Summer.

A blue striped shirt paired with a pink sleeveless blazer to look polished in warmer temperatures - This is the stage you will realize that you have nailed it without turning your closet upside down.
