Holy cowabunga, everyone. Last week as I was perusing the Ulta.com website, I saw there was a new Lorac limited edition eye shadow palette, the Party Palette. It looked pretty online, and for $24, you get a good amount of 10 beautiful colorful and sparkly shadows, perfect for this holiday season, or any night out, or in, if you’re like me.
I was feeling pretty spontaneous here, so I just went ahead and ordered it. I am totally in love with my Lorac Pro Palette and the pigmentation, wearability and overall quality of the shadows in there, so my purchase of the new Lorac palette wasn’t totally unfounded.
I waited very impatiently for the UPS man to come, and when he finally did, I was so fired up. I ripped open that box, pulled everything out and honed straight in on the little guy.
The packaging is really pretty, and feels very sturdy. It’s slim, which I like, and the whole exterior is covered in glitz and glam. It feels very party-appropriate.
Upon opening the palette, I was glad to see the mirror was big and clear. I just have a thing for mirrors, so I was happy about that.
Next, I noticed that the colors are magnificent; just wonderful, so fun and full of energy and life. But I also noticed that they’re unnamed, which kind of stinks. But that’s OK – I’ll just have to refer to them by number or something.
I also noticed how beautiful the two highlight shades are. I’m glad they included both a white and a more pink color, perfect for inner corners, brow bones and other areas you want to brighten.
Simply put, these shadows are gorgeous. I couldn’t even deal with the level of glitter that’s in these intensely pigmented shadows. Like… I needed to do some deep breathing and my voice got really loud with each swatch I took.
“LOOK MICHAEL!! LOOK!!! SEE THE GLITTER!! CAN YOU SEE IT?!?”
“Yes, baby. I can see the glitter…”
I mean, you can’t NOT see the amazingness as soon as you put your finger in each pan, each buttery and creamy-dreamy shadow. Yes, I sound really dramatic and crazy over-enthusiastic, and hey, maybe I am, but I just never with my own eyes have seen such gorgeous colors with such perfect sparkle in my life. It’s just a palette of fun. That’s what it is.
So let’s get to the swatches.
Oh my GOSH. I can’t even wait to put these on my freaking eyes. I can’t. Even. WAIT. And I’m out of breath.
Can you even deal with this??? I am just in awe of how gorgeous these shades are. I would recommend wearing a primer as you would with any other shadow, just because it’ll take these colors to the next level, and allow you to wear them all day or night without fading or creasing.
