I’m tartan-ly in love with the Londoner’s vibe tartan look.
When I was over in London town last Christmas, one of the many museums that topped my bucket list was the Victoria and Albert, for they’ve got the most comprehensive exhibition of Vivienne Westwood collections. Tartan has always been a quintessentially British print to me, and the queen of modern punk Vivienne Westwood has continuously drawn global spotlight to this very versatile design element.
I fell in love when I opened my gift pack from Sammy Dress – it was a red long sleeve tartan mini dress in soft cotton. This piece is so wearable and can be styled for a couple of totally different look. The mood I set for this photo shoot is sophisticated, classy, feminine with a vintage twist. Still think that tartan dress belongs to schoolgirl Alicia Silverstone in Clueless? You’re so wrong! Here I’m to inspire you to join the cult with these oh-so-chic ways to wear tartan:
- Tartan shirt with a pair of ripped boyfriend’s jeans and a leather biker jacket for an effortless chic weekend style
- Tartan dress with an ethnic headpiece, oversized faux fur coat and fringed leather boots for a gypsy inspired look
- Tartan skater skirt, fishnet tights & Jeffrey Campbell platform ankle boots for a dark romance vibe (don’t forget your purple or green lips!)
So tell me fellow lovelies, how do you tartan?
