In spite of Linda's many weight-loss attempts, she was never able to get her weight under control. But when a blood test came back showing that she had developed pre-diabetes, she decided to do things very differently.
Fortunately, a good friend introduced her to a very different way of eating: the keto diet. Here's what happened:
Linda's story
Hi,
I thought I would share my story with you. I'm from the west coast of Canada. I've struggled with weight my entire adult life. I tried every diet there was and would eventually lose weight only to gain it all back again. When I was stressed, lonely or sad I went to food for comfort. I would devour an entire large package of potato chips in one sitting and then feel horrible afterwards.
In April of this year I was diagnosed pre-diabetic with a fasting blood of 6.8. That was my wake up call. I started trying to eat healthier, cutting out grains, breads and junk food. Then a dear friend introduced me to keto. I started my keto journey in May and have never looked back. I've lost 50 pounds (23 kg) in 6 months and feel fantastic! My blood sugar is normal, A1C is 5. I'm off medication.
Side benefits are my acid reflux is gone as well as the medication for that. I also have rosacea, it's not completely gone but has cleared up significantly. One of the best parts is how much I enjoy what I do eat and don't crave the carbs or junk anymore. I also have the energy to go for walks which is a much better stress reliever.
The LCHF way of eating has changed my life, in fact probably saved it!
