So this weeks iTunes free track sees a wonderful collaboration between Germany and the UK. We have DJs Tensnake (Marco Niemerski, Germany) and Jacques Lu Cont (Stuart Price, Yorkshire) featuring singer Jamie Lidell (now Nashville but originally Cambridgeshire). We have recieved a very American sounding track. Between them they have worked with the likes of Goldfrapp, The Killers, The Pet Shop Boys and Simian Mobile Disco, so we’re pretty much guaranteed a decent dance track.
This a classic dance chill out track. Opening with muted percussion and a low key synth riff before being accompanied by a low grooving bass line. Lidell’s vocals have an almost Cee lo/Sam Sparrow vibe to them and they lend themselves well to this track. The texture changes up just enough to keep things interesting without disrupting it in a jarring way. I can see this being a big summer, club and festival anthem for 2014.
Verdict: Chilled and pleasing to the ear. Can’t help but dance in your chair.
