Teaser Tuesday [15] & Top Ten Tuesday [3]

By Literaryexploration @Lit_Explorer
Teaser Tuesday [15] & Top Ten Tuesday [3] Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Teaser Tuesday [15] & Top Ten Tuesday [3]This week's teaser is from... The Maze Runner by James Dashner
"The tomb was smaller than usual - only the top half of the deceased person lay inside. He remembered Chuck's story about the boy who'd tried to rappel down the dark hole of the Box after it had descended, only to be cut in two by something slicing through the air." (70)

Top Ten Childhood Favorites
1. The Giver by Lois Lowry - I had to steal this one from The Broke and the Bookish, because it's one of my faves too!! My first ever dystopian?!
2. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster - I've actually written a paper about the allegorical characters in this book.. I got an A :)
3. The Chronicles of Narnia  by C.S. Lewis - Yes, the whole series, because I have the anthology of them. I love the movies too :))
4.  Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling - Again, the whole series. I made my mom take me to wait in line for the books to be released at midnight!! That's dedication guys.
5. The Magic Treehouse by Mary Pope Osborne - I was obsessed with these books, I even went back and read the one about the unicorn recently!! They're so fun :)
6. The Princess Bride by William Goldman - I'm was in love with this movie as a kid, so when I found out it was a book I immediately ran out and bought it. Unfortunately my cousin got a hold of it and lost it :(
7. The Giving Tree by Shel Silversteen - I love this book so much!! It's so adorable, I think I've read it way more times than is really necessary.
8. The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum - I actually read this book in 6th grade, because I loved the movie and it's sequel, and I remember loving the book even more!
9. Matilda by Roald Dahl - Again, another book I read because I loved the movie so much, but Matilda also got me reading more Roald Dahl, who is freakin fantastic!!
10. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - My mom told me I couldn't see any of the movies until I read all the books, so I did. And The Hobbit is by far one of my favorite books of all time to this day. It's fantastic!!!
