What’s new Metalheads! Today I’m going to introduce a Metal band from Nebraska called Surveying The Damned, which is releasing on March 8th their new EP entitled “The Pattern”.
Surveying The Damned is formed by four guys, John Hunt on vocals, Larry Sandoval on guitar, Jimmy Hated on drums and Jennifer Hunt on bass. They had previously played in other bands, Larry and John have been playing together in Temperwall and Sins Of The Father, and Larry also has played in Dollarhyde and the Pessimist Chronicles. John also have been playing with Sinking and Jimmy came from the punk and hardcore scene with Plan B Rejects, Youth In Asia and Fetus Assclit Abortion. In regard to Jen, Surveying The Damned is her first band and I have to say that this girl does it really well on bass.
The band started as a recording project between John and Larry following the breakup of Sins Of The Father band and they spent a long time writing and trying to solidify a lineup for this new musical project, which evolved in little time becoming a solid band with the addition of Jimmy on drums and Jen on bass. The result is, in their own words, a balance between metal, punk, beer, and the stupidity to play something heavy but fun.
They released on 2013 two songs entitled “Left To Dream (Demo Version)” and “The Pattern (Demo Version)”, these are some of the demos for songs they have done in preparation of recording the album. These guys also have been preparing a new release in the current year which is coming soon, I’m talking about their new EP entitled “The Pattern” which is releasing on March 8th.
This EP from Surveying The Damned is a fantastic release with three Metal tracks, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by Metal Sean at Dream Pro Recording from Lincoln (Nebraska).
“The Pattern” EP has a highly recommended Groove Metal/Hardcore sound with agressive and powerful compositions. “Steps Away” is a killer track very cool and “Apostacy” is another awesome and powerful song which I like and I absolutly recommend, but I have to say that “The Pattern” is my favorite song with a great sound and really a powerful and brutal voice, I think John is fantastic on this track and he shows more angry than ever, great job, guy!

In my opinion “The Pattern” EP is a fantastic release which leaves you wanting more, I hope that these guys will surprise us very soon with a new full-length album and I’m sure we will enjoy a new collection of demolisher songs from the band, of course.
I recommend you don’t miss Surveying The Damned, they have really an awesome sound and pay attention to the imminent release of “The Pattern” EP, which is going out on March 8th!
