Sunsets in San Antonio

By Thefoodiecoupleblog

Today the sun is setting on our Ibiza holiday….ok well it was almost 10 weeks ago now, but the final post about the holiday is a goodun!

San Antonio is one of the most popular and well-known resorts in the Mediterranean, famous for it’s nightlife, beaches and not to mention the sunsets. The resort is dominated by the beautiful palm-lined promenade which skirts the harbour, constantly busy with yachts and speedboats. This harbour, called Portus Magnus by the Romans, is one of the most famous natural harbours in Europe.

We headed over one evening to take in the sunset on a cruise around the harbor and to chill out and have a few drinks.

I must admit we weren’t initially struck by beauty in that our first view of San Antonio was the ‘west end’ think fun fairs and brits abroad and you get the picture, but hopping on to the boat and taking in the harbor and promenade and later on the nightlife round on the sunset strip we became a lot fonder of the place.

The sunset was truly outstanding and my pictures really don’t do it justice.

After we had a few drinks in Cafe Del Mar and Cafe Mambo – even if you only do it once in your life I would thoroughly recommned San Antonio and Ibiza for a well rounded holiday of sun, sea, culture & food!
