Disclaimer: Subway sent me a $25 Subway gift card to sample their new Oven Crisp Chicken subway sandwich, however I am under no obligation to do so nor to make the review positive. This review reflects my personal opinion about this product. Read below to see how to win your own $25 gift card!
I was pleased to be contacted by Subway as part of their Chicken Challenge celebrating their new Oven Crisp Chicken sandwich because I frequent Subway (as this search on Subway reveals) and am always happy to try new things their. I jumped on the Avocado bandwagon when they "went green" (which they seem to have stopped) and while I've mostly been settling for a simple veggie sub I thought this new sandwich sounded pretty good.
Last night after my daughter's soccer practice we went to Subway for dinner and I figured that I would get her opinion on the Oven Crisp Chicken as well since she had mentioned wanting to try it. She had a 6" Oven Crisp Chicken sub on Italian bread with bacon, american cheese, lettuce and tomato. According to the Subway calorie calculator this was 470 calories, 13.2 grams of fat, 27 grams of protein and 1190 milligrams of sodium. My daughter is 12 and doesn't worry about such things – she gave the taste two thumbs up. We both had the chicken heated up but didn't toast the bread.
I had a 12" Oven Crisp Chicken sub on Italian with spicy mustard, lettuce, tomato, black olives, jalapenos, cucumbers and salt and pepper. The stats on this one (notice no cheese, no mayo, no olive oil, etc) were 770 calories, 13.7 grams of fat, 44 grams of protein and 2020 mg of sodium.
Overall my daughter and I really liked the taste of the Subway Oven Crisp Chicken sandwich – deep flavor, not deep fried – available from August 15th through September 30th!
Subway has graciously offered to send a $25 gift card to one of my US Resident readers! All you need to do to have a chance to win is to leave a comment here telling me your favorite Subway sandwich. I'll pick a random winner later this week. Good luck!
