Hey folks,Here’s hoping we are all well rested after yesterday’s well deserved break. As a regular Oliver Twist, I really did wish it was much longer than three days but I’m still quite thankful for that extra day of quiet, cheer and spice. We are back with yet another blogger feature on the "Style on a Budget" series and today's blogger is the lovely Tuke Morgan of TukesQuest.com
She is one blogger I have the utmost admiration for because of how she's able to do all that she loves and still make it work. She is a Saxophonist, one of the things about her that I'm most in love with because honestly, how many female Saxophonists do we have out there plus the few times I've heard her play, she's utterly amazing. She's also a food photographer, a blogger and a model, there's definitely so much you could learn from Tuke's life and journey so do stop by her blog and connect with her.
Here's what she had to share with us concerning her style on a budget:

Give us an insight into your style? My style is comfortable, I used to be a tomboy and didn’t care much for fitted clothes. My style is Afrocentric, I love the vibrancy of prints and how radiant they make me look.My style is simple, I don’t do too much but it comes out looking classy and pretty. My style changes frequently as my mood determines how I dress as well as the occasion I’m attending.

Stylistas tend to have favorite style quotes or inspirational quotes, what's yours?I don’t really have a favorite style quote but my favorite Bible Verse is I can do just anything through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

What informs and inspires your outfit choice on a daily?Where I am going, how I am feeling, the sort of people I will encounter at the event I’m attending, the weather, the dress code of the event, etc.

Are you a jeans-kinda girl or are you a regular girlie-girl?Back in the day, like secondary school days and Uni, I would have straight up said Jeans kinda girl. I literally wore jeggings/jeans, a top, hoodie and Ugg boots every day during the cold months while in Uni. Nowadays, I really just like to be comfortable so I wear a lot of easy to slip on dresses and kaftans.

What questions do you ask yourself before making your next purchase?Do I need it?How versatile is this piece? Can I make something similar at a cheaper price? Is it good value for my money?

When it comes to shopping for accessories, what's your guilty pleasure?I love earrings and necklaces.I don’t wear bracelets or rings.I have only 2 watches and one of them is my go to, I got it as a graduation present from Uni and I almost always have it on.There was a time I loved to dress in an Afrocentric manner so I wore a lot of wooden earrings, red beads and gold jewelry. I still like them but I also wear pearls a lot and hoops too.

Are you a shopper with a list, are you an impulsive shopper or just guilty of both?I always have a list on my phone with pieces I need in my wardrobe. I also tend to have to shop for events due to the nature of my job. For example, if I’m playing Sax at an alumni reunion event and the school colours are turquoise and yellow, I will typically have to go shopping for something with those colours if I haven’t got anything like that in my wardrobe. I only buy things impulsively when I’m under pressure so don’t have time to think things through. Other than that, I’m a pretty calculated clothes shopper.

What are your favorite places to shop when you are on a budget?I like to make my own clothes, so I go to the market with my tailor to buy fabric then send her pictures of the style I would like her to make. I don’t shop recklessly as I am an Economist by degree so tend to be pretty prudent with my spending.

What's your take on the current #BuyNigerian movement? Believer or Skeptic?I am a believer in the movement as our economy needs to be stimulated. Some of the price points are a bit high due to the lack of proper infrastructure and the quality of some clothes aren’t always the best but I believe that it will get better.

What's the craziest thing that has ever happened to you on one of your shopping days? So I was out shopping with a friend a couple of weeks ago and I got the most unexpected phone call from BellaNaija asking if I was interested in representing them on the #JoziWithGoogle trip. (http://www.tukesquest.com/2016/11/joziwithgoogle.html). My reaction was epic as I had been talking about visiting South Africa the day before. It reminded me that God actually cares about all my desires.

Who is that one person you feel can relate to your unique sense of style, someone we might refer to as your 'fashion soul-sister'?I can’t really think of one person that perfectly suits the bill, but maybe a combination of Sade of In My Sunday Best, Solange, Kiitana and Uzy Paws.

What are your favorite Local and International fashion brands? My favorite places to shop for clothes are Zara, H&M, Forever21, Bershka and Pull & Bear. My favorite brands for quality watches and bags are DKNY and Michael Kors. I don’t have a favorite local brand but I love Maxine Arthur’s, a Brand based in Abuja.
