Now that the sunnier weather is upon us, it has got me all excited for all things related to spring and summer. I think it is a good idea to have a clear out of your wardrobe for all of your clothing and shoes that are perfect for the sun. A lot of them will have been hidden away for a while over winter. But now is the time to pack away your boots and winter coats. Then you can sort through and see what clothes you are short of or need to get. What trends are there this spring and summer, though? Here are a few of the trends to look out for.
Maxi Dresses
Thank goodness that maxi dresses are in style in the summer. We all love to be a little more covered up, especially on those days when our legs need to be waxed! They are perfect for wearing out the shops but even just out at the beach. I like that they can be dressed up with heels or wedges but can be dressed down with flip flops. Floaty prairie style dresses will be quite a big trend as will pleated maxi dresses or skirts. An Abaya Dress is an option too. Grab a few maxi dresses and you’ll be set this summer.
White Sneakers
This season you want your sneakers to be as bright white as possible. The crisp, minimalist look is a winner for casual days. You can team them up with some denim shorts, a plain t-shirt and a long necklace. So think of choosing a new pair that is monochrome and has little to no branding. They can be worn with a short dress too for a more dressed up casual look. Anything that looks good but keeps us comfy in summer is a winner in my eyes!
Backpacks
So I’m not talking about a massive backpack like the one you would have taken to school with you. But a casual backpack, in a pattern or khaki print is the perfect item to have with you this summer. It fits a lot of things in and is much more practical for travel and being out and about. Your hands are free when you have a backpack, so makes it easy to use your phone or ride a bike. A must this season I think.
Flat Mules
I said earlier about styles that look good but keep us comfy; well, the flat mule is certainly that. Some styles look a little like you are wearing slippers, and they’ll feel like you are too. They are so comfy! The flat mules look good with pretty much everything in your wardrobe which is a bonus. There are casual options or smarter options so it could even work for wearing in the office at work. Who needs blisters from sky-high heels if they don’t need to?
What styles are you looking forward to wearing this spring and summer? I’d love to hear what you think about it all.
