You’ve probably seen her on the Gene Simmons “Family Jewels” show, and you’ve more than likely heard of her.
Well, nothing excites me more then hearing about a clothing line that supports normal, figured women, because lets face it, not everyone is a size double zero.
When I was in high school, I always, always use to tell my aunt that I was going to fit into my Mud Jeans, and L.E.I jeans F-O-R-E-V-E-R, as they were a size double zero, and she would always tell me “you wish, that will never happen“, which back then I obviously took that as an insult.
My sophomore year of high school, I got really, really sick, and lost a bunch of weight, and was down to 80 lbs at 16 years old.
My classmates would constantly make fun of me, telling me that I had an eating disorder, and I will also never forget running out of my high school prom, and having my dad pick me up before prom even started, as I saw my skeleton figure on the big screen, that the school had put up when you walked in the door.
That night, i’ll never forget as I ate all of my moms homemade cranberry scones, and basically just tried to gain back all of the weight i’d lost being sick. Now, before I was sick, I would of thought that super skinny was cute, and the way to be, as that was my mentality before I had lost a bunch of weight.
Now being 24, and going through that traumatic experience, I realized that nothing is more sexier on a women then curves. Yeah, okay, it’s good to workout, and be healthy, but we should all embrace our bodies the way that they are.
That being said, when Sophie Simmons came out with her collection for The Style Club LA, I was head over heels. This is a collection for the normal every day girl, and it puts a fantastic message out there to other girls saying, “Hey, you can look hot, well being curvy too!”
