What is it?
This is a really cool event that I took the girlies to last year and will definitely be at again this year. In a nutshell it is what happens when all of the emergency services in the city get together and have a trade show. Kids can explore inside of all of the emergency vehicles (ambulances, tactical vehicles, water rescue boats, fire trucks) and they can learn how to talk to emergency service workers so they will feel comfortable if they ever find themselves in an emergency situation.
Last year - we took it pretty easy and just tried to stoke the girlies curiosity. This year, I plan to encourage them to ask questions and learn more about how they might react if they found themselves in situations. Ultimately, though, I just want them to know that if they needed help - there are certain people that it is ALWAYS 100% OKAY to talk to if they need help.
Last year it was held in the firefighters training area out in Forest Lawn. This year they have chosen the much more transit friendly McMahon Stadium. It is a really cool event for the whole family so I highly recommend checking it out.
