Sizzling in Sapphire

This outfit was from a few weeks ago, on a particularly hot week day. I always think it’s difficult to dress for work in the summer as you still have to be respectable (i.e. no shorts or sandals etc) despite the sweltering conditions. Luckily I can be quite casual, with no strict rules about what to wear. Today’s outfit features two of my most recent purchases, the beautiful head band I picked up from Boots (see my post here) and one of the tee’s from my massive River Island haul (see my post here). They compliment each other perfectly both in a sizzling sapphire shade. On hot days, its always good to be able to push your hair out of your face with a hair band, and it’s even better when its as pretty as this one and you are able to make it part of your outfit. As you may begin to realise, I have an obsession with loose-fitting tops you can slip off one shoulder – I find this so incredibly sexy without being too try-hard. This top is one of those beauties. In fact it’s so amazing, I also bought it in a stone shade as well so I can wear it twice as often. An added bonus is the jewel tone of this one which adds a touch of exotic glamour. Since this top does slip off the shoulders, I had to make sure the bra strap on show was a good one. This is a particularly vibrant amethyst silk strap, yet more jewel-inspired shades, which works well against the blue. I teamed it with my fail-safe dark denim skinny jeans with the gold zips I’m sure you’ll see hundreds of times in my posts, and tan-coloured pumps. Summery perfection.
