Last Saturday, I attended the Singapore Night Festival and checked out The Peranakan Museum (TPM), thanks to the lovely hosts from Make Up For Ever (MUFE).
Along with bloggers like Kas, Shirleen, Keith, and the folks from MUFE, Sabrina & Darren
After a delicious Peranakan dinner at True Blue Cuisine, we headed over to The Peranakan Museum.
The beautiful Peranakan Museum lit up for the Singapore Night Festival
This year, the body painting artists from the MUFE Academy Singapore collaborate with TPM, and translate symbols into works of bodypainting art from TPM’s current exhibition, Auspicious Designs: Batik for Peranakan Arts.
Body painting by Gloria Chin of Make Up For Ever Academy. Her design features the Phoenix.
Stunning designs that take 8 hours each to complete
Even the back is highly detailled
This design was inspired by the Buketan (“bouquet”) cloth
We chatted with Gloria, a body painter in her first year at the MUFE academy, who was involved in creating the Phoenix design on the male model. She explained that it takes three artists work for eight hours on one model to finish a single full body artwork. The artists work with a variety of MUFE water-based paints that are dry to the touch but easily washed off after the event.

On the third floor of the Peranakan Museum there was a snaking queue of people waiting to get their free MUFE airbrush tattoos done. The four auspicious deigns they could choose from were the Dragon, Peony, Butterfly and Carp.
Two to three artists work on each person, using stencils, airbrush and makeup.
These airbrush tattoos are so popular that it takes 30 minutes to queue for your turn

Even the boys got some auspicious designs tattooed on!
The auspicious designs available were the dragon, butterfly, carp and peony
We ended the tour with a visit to the MUFE Pro Loft and Academy just around the corner, where there was a showcase of the many courses available. A demo of different makeup skills like airbrush and beauty makeup were being conducted, and you could try your hand at being an artist for the night.
Even the front window of the Pro Loft was painted for the Night Festival!

You could spend the whole evening browising the variety of products they carry
Also on display were the new Rouge Artist lipsticks, which match the lipliners from the Aqua Collection.
