Hola!
I don’t know where the year went to – Holiday 2013 is already ready and awaiting us in the wings. One of the first few colour collections to be revealed, Shu Uemura’s latest artist collaboration, the 6 Hearts Princess Collection for Holiday 2013 will set many hearts aflutter.

The 6 Hearts Princess Collection showcases a black and pink colour palette – it reflects the timeless and universal theme of feminine desire to reflect another, inner self; the parallel universe of real and surreal. The colour collection explores the concept of dual beauty …
the paradox of pink and black princess characters as feminine icons because every woman has duality within – nice and naughty, innocent and sexy.
In its final artist collaboration for 2013, Shu Uemura celebrates the year of its 30th Anniversary with yet another prominent artist – Takashi Murakami. The colour collection features artwork created by Murakami based on an upcoming animated series 6 Hearts Princess (or 6HP). Murakami’s specially created animation features the adventures of “majokko” (magical witch girls) who are essentially ordinary girls who transform into female superheroes to fight enemies or solve problems. Murakami pays homage to Majokko which is a popular and long-standing genre of Japanese animation and adds to it with elements of Cosplay and Tokyo’s Otaku subculture.

Before taking a look at the collection itself, let’s take a look at some of the looks created for this collection.

I didn’t realise it at first – but the main campaign visual of the Pink and Black Princesses – they are both the same girl. Uchiide-san believes that this “yin and yang” feature exists in every woman and hence used the same model and transformed her into 2 totally different characters. For the Pink Princess, Uchiide-san wanted to express the very pure, soft and romantic femininity while for the Black Princess, he wanted to create a cool, glamourous look.
The Shu Uemura Singapore team of Accredited Makeup Artists recreated the 2 looks – here are shots of the Black Princess.

Packaged in a fuss-free gold tube, the Lip & Cheek Fun-Tasy is called a “lip and cheek tint”. Rather than a geleé or a gel, these are smooth, ultra-pigmented cremés that can be used either sheerly or as an opaque product, depending on your application style.
The Lip & Cheek Fun-Tasy are available in 6 shades of pinks, red and an orange-coral. I think Heroine Rose would be a lovely lipcolour.

You need very very little product so squeeze the tube carefully – the photo below might give you an idea of the texture of the product.

And to wrap things up, here is the cutie-pie mascot of the collection – the Heart and Flowers plushie was so soft and cuddly, I wished that it came home with me!

The Shu Uemura Holiday 2013 Collection, 6 Hearts Princess, will retail in all Shu Uemura counters islandwide from 1 Nov 2013.
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day ahead!
