As you read this, I should be well on my way to Qatar. As I will have previously mentioned (and if you’ve been paying attention!), I am going to visit my lovely friends from Dublin, Colin and Claire, who have just moved there for a work opportunity. We met at a wedding in 2012 while they were still living in Winnipeg. Colin worked with my boyfriend at the time, so they already had a connection and friendship. When I hit it off with the two of them- from the swass at the outdoor wedding, to the cocktails promptly enjoyed afterwards and the endless nonsense we partook in that night, it was instant friendship for the four of us.

Yep, things got a little weird, and yep, we were running around in the parking lot in our barefeet by the end of it.
I haven’t the foggiest idea what Colin, Claire and I will get up to in Qatar, but you know what? I don’t care. I will be happy just to be with them. My arduous 2 months in India void of familiar close relationships (that’s not to say I didn’t create a strong bond or two while there) has me moving on to a series of cozy visits, the first of which happens in Doha, Qatar with these two.
