According to reports from South Korea, the Galaxy S5 shipments have allegedly hit 10 million in just 25 days. The number marks a new record for one of Samsung’s flagships and surpasses the S4′s record by two days.
10 million S5s shipped in 25 days.
This is definitely a huge success for a Galaxy S smartphone and many would agree that the Galaxy S5 is Samsung’s best handset to this date. For comparison’s sake, here’s how long it took other models to reach 10 million:
*the Galaxy S4 – 27 days
*the Galaxy S III – 50 days
*the Galaxy S II – 5 months
*the Galaxy S – 10 months
However, no matter how much this number sounds impressive, the shipments do not, in fact, reflect sales to end users and still do not match Apple’s numbers. Apple’s had record breaking first weekend sales in the past – for the iPhone 5S and the 5C it was 9 million.
Samsung is yet to officially announce the sales/shipment figures.
