With the new technology developments for offline retails, a new world of sales and advertising is approaching to our reality more than ever. The customers needs more interactivity experience when browsing in the different stores. Perch Interactive is here to help us reach that reality.
Perch Interactive is a small startup of four persons and they focus on developing a new kind of interactive projection display for retail environments. As seen on the video, The “Perch display” uses projected light and a set of motion sensors to enhance products positioned on tabletop counters. This new display can sense when and where a product is touched and when it is picked up as well as the area around the product for digital interaction.
According to Perch Interactive cofounder Jared Schiffman, who is a graduate of MIT’s Media Lab:
Perch gives retailers the opportunity to build a life around a product
When you see a product on a shelf, you can imagine how it might be used or how it might be worn, but that doesn’t always happen or happen in the way the product creator intended.
In the website of the company, we can see some applications that they have done to Small Appliances, Electronics, Beverages or even Sunglasses.
We can also see the wor that they have done with electronics retailers.
The Perch display will be officially unveiled at Decoded Fashion, a fashion and technology conference to be held at New York’s Lincoln Center on April 30.
So, are you ready for the new reality in retailer environments?
