Why do we girls only get to pick and wear a wedding dress once in our lives? You may say that’s because we can only choose one Mr. Right, but this is simply not the same! In fact, choosing a perfect wedding dress sometimes can be much more dramatic than the journey to hunt for Mr Right. How can you tell if this the ‘the one and the only’ dress that I love? How do I be assured that I will have no ‘wedding dress regret’ by picking this one? Do I go for ‘love at first sight’, or do I continue on with my quest for the dream dress since I was a child? And the list goes on and on with all the dilemma we girls come across before we can be assured and ready to commit to ‘the one’…
Ever since I got engaged I’ve been deeply obsessed with beautiful bridal style – the French lace, the tulle and the lace-up back are all oh-so-gorgeous! I’m happy to say that I did not suffer from ‘wedding dress regret syndrome’ that seems to hit most of us ladies post-wedding. I picked a vintage style bridal gown with high collar, lace sleeves and lace-up back which I think is quintessentially me and embodied my vintage soul.
It was an absolute delight to see Queensland bridal couture designers took the stage at this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival, delivering a night filled with glitz, glamour and some of the most aw-inspiring designs. I’ve marveled at the intricate details of beautiful gowns by George Wu and Paul Hunt which I’ve seen at The Wedding Collective Gala Showcase, and also at the CommBank Natural Fibre Fashion Parade this year. The two Queensland-based creative mastermind continue to deliver surprises at the MBFF bridal show. Those elaborate headpieces stole so much spotlight and were more than just part of accessories.
