red lips

Hey There,

Happy Friday to you all, I hope you’ll be getting your red lipstick and eye liners at the ready for tonight, after reading this post…

Like most people, I am a massive fan of a red lip, its such a classic, statement look, don’t you think? But up until recently I did not consider myself a ‘red’ lip kinda girl. Don’t get me wrong, I think every girl needs a red lipstick, and I have owned Barry M Pillar Box Red for probably the most part of a year now, I just never had the confidence to pull it off. Or atleast I thought I didnt. I often would put a red lipstick on and then stare at my bright red lips until I had talked myself out of wearing it. It was one of those colours I would put on in the privacy of my own home, but never dare wear in public. I think I was too worried about whether it suited me, and of what other people thought.

Red is one of my favorite colours, so it is surprising that a red lip is not my ‘go to’ look, sometimes I find certain reds can wash me out a bit, you know make my skin look a lot paler. Being a false tan lover, this did put me off. Being a beauty blogger has definitely made me a lot more adventurous with my make up, and I now wonder what all my fuss was about. With A/W around the corner I really wanted some new lipsticks, and of course that is how I ended up with MAC’s Rubywoo. As soon as I opened it, and applied it, I was in love. And am now definitely a red lip kinda girl, well a Rubywoo kinda girl should I say.

When wearing such a bold color on the lips, I think it is nice to tone down the eye make up, I thought you really can’t go wrong with winged liner and Rubywoo, it is such a classy day to night look. What do you think?

Loreals Superline is actually the third liquid liner I have ever owned. So as you can probably guess, winged liner is a new love of mine, a tricky to master technique but a great finish to any eye look. I find the Superliner easy to hold as it feels just like a pen, although the tip is a lot bigger than others I have used it still gives you that gorgeous flick on your outer eyes.

I think the Rubywoo lip and black liner will be one of my ‘go to” looks for Autumn, and Winter, but I love how it could just as easily be perfect for Spring, Summer.

FYI – I used Loreal Superliner for the eyes, Bourjois Mascara, Bare Minerals Ready foundation, Sleek Make Ups contour kit, NYX Cosmetics concealer and of course MACs Rubywoo.

Let me know if this makes you reach for your red lipsticks.

Have a lovely weekend.

Lots of love,
KBxx
