Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

By Lotionsandpotions @LotionNPotion
Primers are something I had taken little notice of until last year. The seemed like a completely unnecessary step and I don't like to put masses of stuff on my face unless its skincare.
However, I tried a couple out last year mostly by accident or at least not because I'd picked them out. I had one sent to me in a Joliebox (now Birchbox UK) and another came free with a magazine. These got me thinking about primer and I do now have a couple of them. I have a couple because I'm never quite convinced that they do the job they're meant to!
I've heard a lot of good things about Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. Revlon have been around since 1932 and that does make me think they might just know a thing or two!

I apply this before anything else as it does somehow give a 'soft focus' look to my skin, generally making it look better. I can see how on a good day it would be possible to use this alone, which is claimed by many other primers and I'm always left thinking 'why on earth would I want to leave it at this?!' The state of my skin after I've put this on tends to dictate whether I go for a full coverage look or something more low key. I must say, I've been reaching for the low key products since giving this a go!
As I said, I've always been a bit sceptical as to whether or not primers actually do what their meant to and make your make up last longer, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Revlon's primer offering.
I can actually see that my make up stays put for longer, applies more smoothly and doesn't seem to smudge as easily. You've got to love a product that actually does what it says it will!
Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer costs £11.99 from Boots (link here)
