I have been living in Hong Kong for over two years now and have been getting a hang of life here (more or less!!). I have always taken my own sweet time to adjust to a new situation or a new country for that matter. Hong Kong for me is a pretty multi cultural place(i know a lot of people might disagree), as the expat community here is quite active and there are religious temples, food places and even grocery stores that won't let you miss home too much. Hong Kong, undoubtedly is one of the safer cities in the world as well!! But, there are times when we all living here question the food standards and organic-ness (if you are into that) of the food items available here in the grocery stores. A lot has been said and discussed about it over the years!
In my quest for a healthier lifestyle, i have been researching quite a bit for organic (standardised) food grocery stores and the likes here and today i am writing about one of the little gems that i have found!! And the best part is, that it's an online store (yes, you heard me right- you can order online and it will be delivered to you in no time!!), and why am i stressing the word 'online'- well, people living in Hong Kong would know the value of that!!
So here's the story....
There was this lady who had just arrived from Paris and was in a look out for some good quality authentic organic food. She visited most of the food stores around Hong Kong but couldn't find what she needed. Then she stumbled upon a hidden company that imported french organic food, so she decided not only to buy from them but to also invest in the idea. Kinoa-Shop is an online organic food supplier and will deliver at your door step. It is also the sole importer of La Vie Claire, one of the biggest french organic brand. The store is run by Cecile Trentini who is French and is from Paris.
As you all know how particular the french are for their food (quality as well as taste wise), that's why the French Organic standard 'AB' is the toughest to crack. So, you can be rest assured that the product quality from Kinoa (which majorly deals in products with AB certification) would be one of the best in the world. Cecile, the owner is a very sweet lady and has superb personal relations with her clients. A lot of her clients approach her for food recipes, weight loss tricks and also for food consultancy for their children.
I for this write up, have tried a couple of Kinoa's products and can totally vouch for them. The quality of products is very high and the freshness guaranteed. One of my favourite products from their store is Trio Quinoa and wheat, which i use for gobbling up in my favourite salad and is super delicious. Also, one of the items that is worth a mention is which is made out of organic cereals and who doesn't like a bit of chocolate in their cereal bars!! If you are into distinctively tasting healthy sugar options, try their Coconut Sugar as well, it's super in taste and texture and can be added to that cup of yogurt or can be sprinkled in your favourite desserts.
The price range of their products is very competitive, so everybody has a chance to get into healthy eating. Cecile the store owner is also a mother of two, so you will get a lot of children friendly products on the website like Apple and Pear Puree pouches among others.
