Review: The New Yo! Sushi, Leamington Spa

By Thefoodiecoupleblog

Everyone’s heard of Yo! Sushi right? Well I only discovered it about 18 months ago and since then I can certainly say I love it. It’s great for a quick bite to eat, and its pretty healthy in general too. I must admit I get a bit like a kid in a sweet shop when I go – I love pulling the plates off the conveyor belt! We frequent our most local branch in Birmingham most times we hit the Bull Ring shops, and so when we were invited to try out the brand new opening over in one of our favorite towns – Leamington Spa, who were we to say no! The new 72 seater branch has only recently opened about 10 days ago, and is located in Regent Court, right in the heart of Leamington’s shopping and eating district. IMG_5658 I really liked the interior – lots of booths as well as the bar stool style eating, around a central kitchen and a bubble style theme on the walls and ceiling. The place was heaving when we arrived on Saturday lunchtime, but the manager and staff seemed to have it all under control and managed the queue well. IMG_5662 We were pleased to see some new dishes on the menu since our last visit, and looked forward to trying a couple of these as well as our favourites. On this occasions we went for;

  • Vegetable Firecracker Rice
  • Pumpkin Korroke
  • Chicken Gyoza
  • Tuna Tataki & Ponzu – one of the new additions
  • Spicy Tuna Iso
  • Beef Teriyaki
  • Seared Beef Nigiri
  • Duck & Hoisin Salad – another newbie
  • Beef Tataki & Coriander Dressing

There wasn’t one of these we didn’t enjoy – and I thought the new Tuna Tataki was absolutely delicious, as were the spicy tuna rolls. The hot elements that we ordered from the server came in a timely fashion too which was another plus.

Our experience at Yo! Sushi in Leamington was great – I’m pretty sure the new addition to the Yo! family will be a resounding success in Leamington!   Disclosure: We were invited to try out the new branch of Yo! Sushi and dined as their guests. All opinion as always are our own.
