Review: The Face Shop New Zealand Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ It seems like I am reviewing a lot of toners and cleansers lately. I guess I have toned down buying decorative cosmetics a lot, just because I already have so much and never even manage to use anything up, while I use toners and cleansers daily and go through them quite fast. This is a review of the The Face Shop Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner. The Face Shop New Zealand Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner ReviewThe Face Shop New Zealand Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner ReviewThe packing design of this product is ugly beyond description. It looks clumsy and cheap and just not good at all. Certainly not the reason for my purchase. The plastic bottle contains 200ml of content, of which 100mg are supposed to be volcanic clay. Just a quick calculation: 100mg equal 0.001ml. That's 0.0005% of 200ml. So, basically nothing. Should probably have looked at the ingredient list before I bought this product, because the main ingredients are water and alcohol. The Face Shop New Zealand Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner ReviewYou are supposed to shake the bottle before using to mix the toner and powder. Only that, considering there are ju7st 0.0005% of powder in it, there isn't really anything to mix. I sometimes use a healing earth toner from a German drugstore brand, and there you can actually see the earth collecting at the bottom of the bottle and shaking it before using it makes sense, but here it really doesn't do anything. The toner that comes out of the bottle is a clear liquid and, even though there is artificial fragrance in this toner, seems scent-free to me.The Face Shop New Zealand Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner ReviewThe The Face Shop New Zealand Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner is supposed to remove sebum, clean skin and tighten pores. I cannot say I see any noticeable results, nor am I convinced by this toner in any other way. My skin is like always (which means bad), didn't get worse while using the toner, but also not any better. I still have lots of sebum on my face and my breakouts are like usual. Now, holding this against this toner seems unfair, as this just seems to be the normal state of my skin, no matter what product I use, but I think I am just really disappointed that a product called "Volcanic Clay Powder In Toner" contains no significant amount of volcanic clay at all. I would not repurchase this product as I think it's just a standard toner without any special abilities, and considering alcohol is one of its main ingredients, not even a mild one.
