Layla holographic nail polishes were the first holos I’ve encountered. Later I’ve found out about Color Club, which were more accessible. Finally, I found a seller on e-bay who had a decently priced Laylas and got three of them: Emerald Divine, Shocking Pink and Gold Idol. Each nail polish came with a buffing nail file.
Laylas are notorious for being very difficult holos which need a special Aquabase base coat to apply evenly. I’ve heard countless stories of them dragging, leaving bald spots and, all in all, being very problematic. This, however is not my experience.
While it is recommended to prepare the nail plate (smooth it) with the attached nail file, I don’t do this. (I use this nail file for buffing nails now and then). I simply apply nail polish on the bare nail and it is a bit uneven in the first coat, but the second coat evens it completely. I’m glad because life’s too short for a bad nail polish.
Overall, they are pretty strong holos, but you will notice that the holographic pigment is finer, compared to Color Club or indie holos.
Shocking Pink is a bright coral pink, bordering on red. A real stunner.

Gold Idol is one of those golds that gives me trouble. I has a strong greenish undertone and almost looks like a pale olive green. It is still a very nice holo, much nicer than I expected it to be.

Emerald Divine is a gorgeous teal green holo. I absolutely love it.
