Review: Skinfood Citron Scalp Care Shampoo

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ Today I will review the Skinfood Citron Scalp Care Shampoo, which was part of the Travel set I bought for myself and also for my last Giveaway. My tube holds 20ml, the full-size product comes in a super-handy 500g- pump-dispenser (love these!)
Citron Scalp Care Shampoo is free of 4 additives (colorings, parafiin, ethanol, benzophenone) and contains Citron extracts marked by its beautiful citrus aroma. The pure fresh lather cleamses your scalp.
Citron, so popular as to be used for baths for its beauty ingredients, makes your scalp healthy and your hair beautiful.
How To Use: Wet your hair and scalp with enough warm water and squirt a moderate amount of shampoo in your palms to massage the lather around the entire scalp and hair using your fingertips before rinsing it off.

Usually I dislike citrus scent, but I have come to believe that this is only the case because most products that have citrus scent smell very artificial, or unpleasant like lemon peel The Skinfood Citron Scalp Care Shampoo smells amazing though, like a real citrus fruit (mix between orange and grapefruit?), and not just the peel The shampoo itself is clear and colourless and also doesn't create much foam.
Skinfood Citron Scalp Care Shampoo Review I am always having a hard time reviewing hair care products like shampoo or conditioner, because I am so undemanding when it comes to them and, quite honestly, never really notice any real difference in treatment effect when I use one or another brand. So all I ask of shampoos is that it smells good, however, this shampoo really works for me! I am one of those unfortunate people who has a horribly itching scalp. It is really bad, to the point where I sometimes scrape my scalp gorily. I have tried a couple of things, many shampoos that promised to help against this condition, organic shampoos without any artificial ingredients and so on, but nothing ever showed any sign of improvement. I hadn't expected that anything could exist that would help and that I even purchased this Citron Scalp Care Shampoo was just luck because it was part of a set, and not because I hoped to find something that would help. So I really didn't expect it to work. Usually my scalp doesn't itch much right after washing my hair. But after using the Citron Scalp Care Shampoo not onyl does it not itch at all, but my scalp feels so amazingly cool! It is hard to describe, but it really feels so relieving. Imagining you have an itchy mosquito bite and then you put one of those cooling anti-itch lotions on it. That's how my whole scalp feels after using this shampoo. Of coursethis effect doesn't last long, it lasted maybe for as long as it took my hair to dry, but I still loved it for the time it lasted and have the impression that my scalp was less itch even after that. I guess for people who do not have an itchy scalp to begin with this product won't be too impressive, but for me it is heavenly!
However, there is a downside to it too. :( I feel like the shampoo doesn't really create much foam and for me that makes it a bit hard to use. I always have the impression that it was really hard to distribute the shampoo all over my hair when there isn't any foam, so I need to use a ton of this product. The 20ml lasted me for like 3 times washing my hair. I have other shampoos where this would have easily lasted for a month!
The full-size shampoo is a bit pricey and considering I would need to use so much of the product each time I wash my hair it would probably ruin me financially. That's the only thing that is keeping me from re-purchasing it though.
