Review: Pitch Perfect 2 (NO SPOILERS!)

By Clo Hutch @lashesoflife

I received so many mixed reviews for this film I really didn’t know what to expect. Could a sequel really live up to the boom the first film made?

Ok so a quick round up of the first Pitch Perfect, for anyone who hasn’t seen it all, numerous times like myself:

The film follows the story of Beca, a freshman at Barden University, who joins not wanting to be part of a clique. Beca’s father discovers she has not been attending classes and gives her a proposition: if she joins a club and still does not want to remain at college after one year, he will allow her to leave school and will pay for Beca to pursue her music career. Beca joins the Barden Bellas, one of the university’s a capella groups, after much persuasion from some of the girls.  The film goes on to follow Beca and the Bellas as they fight for first place in the campus competition.

If you fancy watching the trailer for Pitch Perfect 2, here it is:

My Review (no spoilers!!):
I went to see this after such a long day at work, one of those which makes your mind numb and completely exhausted. I wasn’t sure I’d be in the mood, but that sure changed.

From the off I was laughing so much. Rebel Wilson in all her glory, really does add a massive element of humor to this film, along with Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow who are back aswell (don’t worry that’s not a spoiler).

The songs are just as amazing too, with some great a capella and mixes.

I’ve heard good and bad things about the story line of the film and although as in many chick flicks there are certain things you can guess, I still think that the base story line as well as all the other aspect which made up the film were great, some pretty inspiring.

The film did make me miss uni a little, but overall such a motivational and feel good film. I highly recommend going to see this if you haven’t already.

Let me know what you think too!

Chloe xx
