Review: Kosé Cosmagic Exte Bomber Mascara

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ Even though I liked my Love Switch Mascara it was time to say goodbay after a way too long usage (you are supposed to throw your mascara away after 3 months. Does anyone actually do this?) and unpack the next mascara, which is the Kose Cosmagic Exte Bomber Mascara. I bought this mascara on my last trip to Japan and will review it today.Kose Cosmagic Exte Bomber Mascara ReviewKose Cosmagic Exte Bomber Mascara ReviewThe packing design isn't really anything exciting (all of Cosmagic's products look kind of like this) and, for a change, I bought this simply because I needed a new mascara and not because I liked the packing design.
The  Kosé Cosmagic Exte Bomber Mascarahas an elastic comb (which I do not notice at all), which supposedly allows an "ultra curl effect" The fine and slim part at the top lengthens the lash tips while the swirling brush design defines and separates lashes and wide brush spacing allows for a great amount of mascara to be distributed on lashes. This mascara also contains 5 types of fibers, though, while I see the small fibers, I cannot really claim that I see any difference to them.

The mascara comes with a kind of "spacer" with which you are supposed to measure how much longer your lashes look after using the mascara.
After applying the mascara I can see the following effects, or lack of them:
Curl effect: Not happening. I always curl my lashes with a lash curler before using mascara, but here, because you really do get a lot of product on the brush, the mascara is making my lashes heavier, and the curl I made with the lash curler actually becomes less significant. Once the mascara dries the curl stays in place, but I do not think this product works so well for actually creating a curl.
Color: Pitch black it is. I am not used to this, because my last mascara was very natural looking brown. The dark black color really makes my lashes a lot more significant.
Separating lashes: Nope. Especially some of my upper lashes stick together with this mascara and it looks like I had even less ( but darker and thicker) lashes than before.
Lengthening:  My lower lashes look absolutely longer, but I am not so sure about my upper lashes. If I actually take the spacer that comes with it they are, in fact, pretty much the exact same length. They only appear a bit longer, because the very fine tips that were were light and therefore almost invisible before, are now dark black and therefore clearly visible.

While I like what it does with my lower lashes, I am not so satisfied with the result of my upper lashes. They aren't longer or thicker, there is no additional volume, they only really look "darker". They are still more visible than before, but my lashes are naturally rather long already, but very thin, and the mascara only emphasizes on this: My lashes are still long, and still thin, while I would have loved to have an effect that would make it look as if I had more lashes.
What I like a lot is that it can be easily washed of with water. I hate having to use a specific product for cleansing eyes, skin, lips etc. separately, so I like that it's really easy to remove.  I have read in some other reviews that it is supposed to be waterproof, but I cannot find this information on the packing and actually I never had a mascara that was that easy to wash off with water before.
This is not a bad product of you just want some more length in your lashes, but not really what I needed, so not a candidate for re-purchasing.
