Review: Innisfree Apple Juicy Liquid Foaming Cleanser

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ I think this is one of the products I have had for a while, it is finally time to review it - the Innisfree Apple Juicy Liquid Foaming Cleanser, "a liquid-type deep cleansing foam for smooth and healthy shine as clear as a fresh apple." This liquid cleanser comes in a 150ml plastic bottle. It is also available in a 300ml pump-dispenser bottle version. The design is pretty boring, but so are all of Innisfree's products. The brand never has any cute or extravagant packing designs, but always go for a solid, "all natural" and grown up design. Some of their products almost look medical.

Innisfree says about this product:
This liquid type deep cleansing foam offers softness and healthy radiance to your skin like a freshly washed apple. White residue, shaped as snow crystals, may occur when stored below 4℃ for a long time. However, the formula is safe to use. Use when restored in room temperature.
In fact, it doesn't really give much information at all. What does this cleanser do? Why did I even buy this?! Ah, I remember, because I love apple scented products!
This cleanser contains organic apple extract which is supposed to strengthen your skin's natural moisture barrier. When I think of apple-scented cleansing products I think of products like Skinfood's Fresh Apple line. I loved that sweet apple scent, even though it was a very artificial one, like apple bubblegum. Usually I prefer all natural scents, but this one I love. The Innisfree Apple Juicy Liquid Foaming Cleanser turned out to be very disappointing! It smells like apple juice with lemon. Now you might think "Haha, stupid you, it is called "Apple Juicy" Cleanser, of course it smells like apple juice, what did you expect? Well, first of all, I did not expect it to smell like lemons. I am not fond of citrus scent and find it a bit irritating and even unpleasant. Second, as you can see from the ingredient list on the photo above this cleanser contains artificial fragrance! So this is by no means the natural scent of "apple juice", it just tries to appear so. And that's what I find quite disappointing. Usually I prefer natural scents to chemical bombs, but not with apple scent. I was expecting something sweet, but instead the scent is dull and sour. This is a matter of personal preference though, if you imagine the scent of apple juice and lemon, and it seems pleasant to you, then this might be a good product for you.

The foaming cleanser (different to a cleansing foam) has a clear liquid consistence. The kind of bottle the product comes in is quite unhandy. You have to squeeze the bottle and the liquid comes out through a thin hole at the top. I haven't used this product all up yet, but I can already tell that this will get more and more difficult the less product is in the bottle and that I probably won't get the last 1/3 out of it at all. The larger size bottle with the pump dispenser is much better, no idea why they did not design the small version like this too.
When you apply it on your wet face and massage/rub your face it turns into a foam quite well. If you stop massaging the foam will turn back into a clear liquid almost immediately.
I guess the cleanser does its job at cleaning my face alright, but still there isn't really anything about this product that thrills me, nor was there any visible change to my skin (neither good not bad).
Overall I am just not feeling this product. My second Innisfree cleansing product that does not convince me. It's not exactly a bad product, there just isn't anything about it that would make me want to re-purchase it.
