The Heavy Rotation Mega Volume Mascara is supposed to create voluminous eyelashes and at the same time protect your eyelashes with natural ingredients like Camellia Japonica Seed Oil and Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract. It is also supposed to be waterproof with highly resistant to tears and sebum and therefore prevent smudging.
The brush is curved, which is supposed to help you lift up your lashes. You are supposed to use the fine brush tip to separate short lashes and use it on hard-to-reach areas. I know these kind of brushes are pretty common among mascara, but I never had a brush like this before. I was pleasantly surprised, because it was really much easier to use the mascara on areas like the inner and outer corner of my eyes. Personally I have absolutely no problems with this mascara smudging. It stays on my lashes like it is supposed to, but I never have this problem with any kind of mascara - waterproof or not waterproof - to begin with. While my whole make-up melts from my face, my mascara is the only thing ever staying on. I have skipped through some Japanese reviews of this mascara on Cosme and they were pretty bad, mostly criticizing that the mascara did not stay on well. Just tossing this info out here, even though it does not reflect my own experience. The mascara smudges a lot when I start washing my face and rub my eyes with water, but I don't have a problem in everyday situation, so I would say it is smudge-free, but not entirely waterproof.
I guess looking at these before-after photos you can already tell that this mascara did not give my lashes any kind of "mega volume". In fact my eyelashes look pretty much like before, just a bit darker. You can notice more of a difference with my lower lashes, which appear longer. Usually I have lashes hanging down sadly, so I use a lash curler before applying mascara. The Heavy Rotation Mega Volume Mascara does a good job at holding the curl throughout hours. It just cannot add any kind of curl/volume on its own.
When applying this mascara you have to be careful, because it sticks your lashes together easily, creating lumps of mascara. It's better to let a first layer dry properly, before trying to apply any more of it.
Something I find a bit disturbing is that the packing says to avoid contact with eyes and wahs off the mascara immediately should you get any of it into your eyes. Not something you like reading on an eye product, though luckily I can tell you that I got plenty of it into my eyes during the process of washing it off and never had problems with it. Usually I remove my eye-makeup with the same cleanser as the rest of my face, but for this mascara it won't do and I have to use an eye makeup remover product.Overall this is a decent mascara if you like a natural look anyway and just want to make your lashes a bit darker. If you are expecting any stunning effect, additional volume or great difference in length, then this is no product for you. It certainly does not live up to its name.

This mascara is not that waterproof. I live in the Philippines and because of the humid and hot summers here, I resort to using waterproof mascara. I've tried this one last week, and when I wore it at first there were no problems. But come afternoon after sweating a lot, some of the mascara transferred onto my under eye area. I recommend the Heroine Make mascaras because they are the best waterproof mascaras! :)
