Hello! ~♥
It seems I am reviewing quite a lot of Etude House products lately. Actually I am more of a Skinfood girl, or, if I get to pick from all Asian brands I prefer Japanese ones, but Etude really beats most of the other brands with their lovely packing designs. (Expect Majolica Majorca. Lavshuca looked better too, but their renewed line just looks gruesome and I didn't have the heart to buy one of the new ugly products from them so far.)
This is a review of the Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer in the shade 1 Light Beige. The Etude House Surprise concealer is available in 2 different types and 2 shades each: A stick concealer and a liquid concealer, both available in #1 Light Beige and #2 Natural Beige. Being chalk white I picked Light Beige.I think these concealers have been around for quite some time already, but I never noticed them until Etude House changed the design layout from dark and boring to light and cute last year. See, that's how much of a pathetic package junkie I am. The Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer contains 6g of product and has an unique applicator that lets you put concealer on tiny spots much more precisely. I didn't really think it would make much of a difference compared to a common applicator, but it really seems to work easier for me. It's not the most hygienic kind of applicator though as you basically dab it from one impurity to the next.
The color is just perfect for me, especially when blended in, I don't see any difference to my skin tone.
For me this concealer works really well for concealing spots, however, it is not really suitable for things like concealing dark circles in my opinion. I used the Skinfood Peach Sake Perfect Concealer for my dark circles before and it had this extremely strong concealing power with just the tiniest amount. You hardly needed any of the product at all! But the concealing power of the Surprise Essence concealer is not as strong, so you need more of it and while that works okay for small spots, adding lots of it under my eyes makes the product collect in the fine creases under my eyes, making them appear way more prominent.
This is a good product for concealing small spots, but not very suitable for covering bigger areas.
