Review: Etude House Baby Choux Base #01 Mint Choux

By Herugliness
Hello! ~  This is a review of the Etude House Baby Choux Base #01 Mint Choux. This was already part of the original Etude House Sweet Recipe line, which I loved, but originally came in a pot, which I considered too unhygienic and therefore did not buy. However, later in 2013 the same product was re-released in a tube and I had to get it immediately.Review: Etude House Baby Choux Base #01 Mint ChouxReview: Etude House Baby Choux Base #01 Mint ChouxThe packing of this is just adorable! The outer packing is soft pink with sweets on it and looks almost tasty and the actual  tube is light mint green and still looks cute even though it looks much simpler. What I adore is that the tube is made of matte material. It feels awesome to touch and makes a product look so much better than shiny plastic. The tube contains 35g of product, whereas the pot apparently only contained 25g.

Etude House describes this product as following: "This light and fluffy choux cream-like makeup base creates baby choux skin with its moist inside and soft smoothness on the outside."

This Etude House Baby Choux Base is suitable as makeup base and primer, skin tone fixer and skin care product. It contains  filling agents that fill your wrinkles and uneven skin and pigment particles to even out your skin tone. There are 3 different types available and #01 Mint Choux is meant for a red skin tone, while #02 Berry Choux is suitable for pale skin and #03 Peach Choux for dark skin.
In addition to this the base contains ingredients like dandelion and cotton extract to treat your skin. Overall I am amazed by how long the ingredient list is. It is surprising how much stuff you can mix into one product. The ingredient list ranges from natural plant extracts and seed oils silicons like Dimethicon. I ran the ingredient list through an ingredient analyser, and surprisingly all that stuff came out as good to use, while usually most cosmetic products I check have at least one ingredient on a red list.

The base has a wonderful creamy and light texture, which is great to work with. The color is a light green shade. What I love the most about this product is how matte it feels! I have very oily skin and I don't like using bases much, because a lot of them add to the greasiness of my skin. This one however, despite containing moisturizing ingredients, doesn't have this effect at all. I have used some BB Creams which tended to look very oily/greasy on my skin, and with the Etude House Baby Choux Base I could add them much easier, blend them into my skin better than without a base, or with a different base.
Review: Etude House Baby Choux Base #01 Mint ChouxThe base itself doesn't have any real coverage, so don't expect it to cover up red spots. However, because green pigments neutralize red ones, the overall effect is that reddish skin, or light red spots are less noticeable on your face. You can also see well how the product settles in all the tiny lines of my skin to create a more even surface.

I like using the Etude House Baby Choux Base a lot! I can instantly see that my skin appears less red, it has a great texture, which makes my skin feel really soft and it works wonderful as a base product on my oily skin! I can recommend this wholeheartedly!
