Hello lovelies,
today I’d like to talk about a skincare line which has seriously impressed me. Caudalie have launched their Polyphenol C15 line in April and I had a chance to try all the products thanks to a very generous GWP.
The prices are reasonable – they range from GBP 26 to GBP 35 – which is on the expensive side, but still much cheaper than lots of high end skincare. You can find all the products on feelunique.com.
This skincare line claims to “provide a powerful anti-wrinkle & anti-oxidant formula for those that live life to the fullest but want to keep skin youthful”.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of all the products – so satisfied that they all have found a place on my wishlist. My main skin concern is dehydrated, often flaky skin. My skin is oily/combination, but as I’m getting older (27 years at the moment) my skin is more easily dehydrated. I rarely brake out, but I can experience hormonal acne here and there. Caudalie Polyphenol C15 products are not miracle-makers but they did solve the majority of my skin issues.
I’ll start this review series with Overnight Detox oil.
Sadly, I didn’t have enough to properly test this oil because the sample vial was tiny and I spilled half of it while opening the vial, but three times I used it left me impressed.
The full sized oil comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. The bottle contains 30ml and retails for GBP29
The description says that “dry oil deeply regenerates and detoxifies the skin overnight for a fresh, plumped and younger looking skin upon waking “. It is a blend of nine oils – grapeseed, sweet almond, bitter orange leaf, rose, carrot seed, sandalwood, sunflower, bitter orange flower and lavender oil.
The smell of this oil is not love at first sight, but I found it very pleasant once I got used to it.
The direction say to warm up six drops of oil and apply it on clean skin. You can follow it with moisturizer, but you don’t have to. I used it once per week as a treatment – I left it on my skin overnight without a serum or a moisturizer.
The tiny bottle in which this oil came didn’t have a dropper so, while I’m not sure how much drops did I use, I’m sure that I used less than six. The oil is pretty thick, but it thins out as it warms up and you really need a small amount to cover the entire face. It is very slippery and spreads easily. If you use a really tiny amount (one drop for the entire face), it sinks quickly. However, if you use more drops, it will take some time for the oil to sink in – sometimes even hours.
I really like the effect that this combination of oils has on my skin. It fixes dehydration like no other cream does. After using this, I can be sure that in the following several days I’ll have no problems with flaky skin. I can comfortably skip a moisturizer. In the morning my skin looks well-rested, moisturized and radiant. It didn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts, of which I was afraid. My skin already misses it.
If you take a look at the ingredients list, you can see that some ingredients are of natural origin. To me this is not a decisive point, but it is a nice plus.
INGREDIENTS:
For me this Detox oil is a true winner. While it seems cheap in ingredients (and it looks that anyone with a background in aromatherapy could mix it), I find the price reasonable, especially for the effect it has on my skin.
