Return To Tiffany: Lace n Ruffles Style

Let’s talk about colour obsessions, shall we?

Does anyone feel a particular connection with colours? If you stalk me regularly on Instagram, you’d probably notice just how much I love to play with hues and shades in my photos. I particularly love spotting pretty shades in nature while travelling, and connecting a specific colour with a destination. My Cote d’Azure was terracotta, Paris was without a doubt royal blue and Vanuatu was ablaze with rainbow palette!

When it comes to shopping for clothing & accessories, rather than the classic LBD I’d go for my LRD – Little Red Dress. I usually skip the rack of black and go straight to the red, pink or white. For some reasons I’m quite stimulated by colours and the chemistry by matching and mixing them. I think that explains why I feel at home when I’m in a vintage store (or sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong era when I’m in a mainstream shop) – from terracotta orange to teal and amber in the 70s – those are so reinvigorating for my senses and you simply don’t find enough of them from the big brands anymore. Do you feel the same way as I do?

I was doing my usual vintage store hopping in Paddington the other day when I heard the call of this ‘Tiffany green’ dress. She was made in Japan in 1980s and somehow made her way to Brisbane three decades later. It was yet another ‘love at first sight’ moment with this dress.

:)
I have to confess I’ve been quite obsessed with ‘Tiffany green’ that I even carpeted my home in this shade (yep – it took me a while to find one!). So, me and this Tiffany green dress? We’re meant to be together.

In the morning of the photoshoot day,  I was looking for a hairpiece to match my dress and I found a piece of white and black vintage silk scarf with red and green butterfly print that I’ve forgotten about – I know she’d make a beautiful match to my dress. It was super fun and easy to create a low rolled updo hair with it – I’ll surely have to follow up with a video to show you how!
