Reiki Is Getting Positive Results

Reiki Is Getting Positive ResultsReiki is a holistic energy treatment that is becoming more and more popular in the medical field. For many years the validity of this holistic healing practice has been questioned, but it is now gaining a good deal of respect among professionals. In fact, some medical facilities are now utilizing alternative healing methods, such as Reiki, to help patients and documenting the beneficial results.

Reiki is an alternative treatment that uses energy as a healing agent. This energy has been known to bring healing to the mind, body, and spirit. Reiki is not a religion. Rather, it is a technique that aims at reducing stress and restoring balance to the body. It is holistic in nature and has been know to bring healing, decrease stress levels, and bring emotional balance.

The healing energy of Reiki is transferred through a Reiki practitioner to a person. It is believed the healing energy or vibrations go through the hands of the practitioner into the healing recipient. It has become very popular, with at least 4 million people worldwide who are Reiki certified at the 1st level, according to the International Center for Reiki Training. There are three levels one can become certified in and hundreds of hospitals in the United States offer Reiki education for free so people can enjoy the healing benefits.

In 2005, William Lee Rand, founder of the International Center for Reiki Training, created The Touchstone Process, which reports research results from studies involving Reiki. The latest research in 2009 indicates that Reiki is in fact having a positive impact on patients and animals. In fact, a scientific study performed on lab rats indicated that Reiki decreased their stress levels and anxiety.

Human testing was done between 1993 and 2006 and the results came in from Satisfactory to Excellent. It seems that many patients reported that Reiki helped alleviate or control pain.
With such positive reports, more and more hospital facilities around the country are bringing in Reiki practitioners to help patients. Additionally, more Reiki education facilities are being developed as well.
