Product Review || OGX Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Shampoo
Hi guys!
New week, New expectations and the never ending race against time.Hope it was a good weekend, personally I'm slightly well rested - emphasis on 'slightly'.
So last weekend was wash day as per usual and lately my hair hasn't been doing so great lengthwise. I honestly don't feel my hair has grown significantly in the past two months and that's mostly my fault...you know what they say - 'Acceptance is the first step to recovery' so I'm doing just that and being proactive about everything. I’m playing around with several ideas , trying out new products, tinkering with old methods and storing away memories for future laughs on boring days.
I'm still on my protective styling bootcamp though these past two months I didn't quite get my desired results, so this is me taking a step back to re-evaluate. I let my natural hair loose for the usual two weeks breathing space in between protective styles and I had yet another protective style installed during this past weekend. I haven't really been giving my hair the TLC it deserves but I'm going to be doing just that from here on out.
Here's what I did before installing the new do:
  • Spritzed my hair the night prior and moisturized my hair lightly.
  • Pre-pooed the following day with a protein treatment, I used the Motions Professional CPR Protein Reconstructor from my previous post here.
  • Washed using this baby I'm currently reviewing in this post and followed with a Conditioner that I shall rave about in my next post.
  • Moisturised using  Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil followed by LoveShea Skincare Bakewell Tart Whipped Shea butter reviewed here. I didn't want too much product in my hair while installing the new do.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately. For best results, use in conjunction with other Biotin & Collagen products.

My Routine

I washed my hair in three sections working my way from root to ends and rinsing out each section with warm water.

Results

I'm not really a shampoo person but when I came across this, I was most especially happy that this shampoo is sulphate-free which gives me one less thing to worry about. I'm so used to washing with shampoo bars rather than liquid shampoo so this was a welcome change. This shampoo has a pretty good consistency and lathered easily so I didn't have to use so much of it to get my hair clean. I just had to wash each section of hair two times but that ease could also be because my hair didnt have buildup and wasn't greasy in any way.

It's funny how most folks who said a couple things about it on the internet didn't agree with the smell but I actually do like the smell - it has this muted floral scent which somehow smells like citrus to me but that could just be my nose playing tricks on me, who knows? As for the whole volumizing thing, it did an okay job but I'm pretty sure it will have been temporary. Somehow I wish I had let my hair loose for two extra days just to test that theory out but I had to jet off to the salon to have my hair done for the new week.So here you have it, my take on this shampoo which I can comfortably give an 8 out of a 10 until I give it two more gos...that could change things.Till my next post guys,Hugs & Sugar,

Ify*
