‘History will be kind to me for I intend to write it’ Winston S. Churchill
Hello!!!Me again, just checking in and boy am I tired. My eyes hurt from staring at computer screens all day plus the extra effort of trying to keep them open all day long. I need a marathon 24hours sleep session or is there just a healthy supplement that makes you feel like you've gotten the necessary amount of sleep? Whew – I should probably look into that.So people this is a product review...Yup!!!The braids are coming down this weekend, I’ve had them on for a month and it’s been a good one month. In the past, whenever I installed braids, I suffered from itchy scalps same with when I installed weaves. It’s the same violently attacking my scalp from day one but I’m honestly glad it seems those days are behind me – the entire time I’ve had these braids on there has been no episode thank goodness. Usually itchy scalp is mostly because of build-up from using a lot of product so I decided that this time around I was going to keep everything light by using a leave-in conditioner spray which is when I found this baby and decided to try it out. Buying a leave-in conditioner spray was on my list of products to buy before I made my next protective style so I was always on the lookout for this with no particular brand in mind. During my very first visit to Invivo Stores on Eric Moore road in Surulere, I came across two different brands of leave-in conditioner sprays and I opted for this one – Motions Nourish Leave-In Conditioner, after looking through the list of ingredients.PackagingIt comes in their signature yellow bottle though they recently changed their packaging to a more metallic gold color. The bottle is pretty practical with the normal spray bottle mechanism. This leave-in conditioner comes in a 12 fl oz (354ml) bottle and it sold for almost 700naira because things are usually super cheap at Invivo Stores as against other stores - yeah I found that out when I waltzed in a couple weeks ago. I'm pretty sure it might be closer to a thousand naira anywhere else if not more.IngredientsWater (Aqua), Dimethicone PEG-8 Lanolate, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Amodimethicone, Sodium Lactate, Acetamide MEA, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Sodium PCA, Polyquaternium-28, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Panthenol, Sorbitol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Trideceth-12, Propylene Glycol, Proline Geraniol, Cocoyl Sarcosine, Sodium Cocoyl COLLAGEN Amino Acids, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Sorbitol, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Citral, Linalool, Limonene, Wheat Germ Acid, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Hydrolyzed Silk.
Claims'Pump some life back into your tired tresses using Motions Nourish Leave-In Conditioner. A moisturising blend of vitamin E, silk proteins and keratin strengthen and protect your hair. Silicones gently detangle and give hair a vibrant sheen'.
ApplicationOn the bottle: Apply an ample amount throughout hair and leave in. To balance the moisture on hair, apply as often as desired. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact rinse thoroughly with water. My routine: I tried my best to moisturise my scalp at least three times a week but who am I kidding, if I had done three it would have been a miracle so mostly I settled for two contentedly. Usually I simply spritz my scalp with the mixture and seal it in by massaging with Jamaican Black Castor Oil. ResultsI am pretty impressed with my current scalp condition. Even with my infrequent schedule of moisturizing my scalp these past few weeks, it's been holding up just fine. I haven't had any recent urges to scratch the life out of my scalp and trust me it wasn't always that way. Also, there is no dryness - my scalp feels like it usually does without any protective style on. I really wish I had taken some pictures of my scalp but I didn't get around to doing that because this week hasn't been so kind to me and this post is two days late cos i haven't had enough time to sit and write whenever I get home from work. I would really love to try this on my natural hair without the protective style so I see how it holds up with the real deal - let's put the 'detangling' testimonial to the test, what do you think? So guys that's about all I can type right now, usually I could go on and on but it's friday and I'm sure everyone can't wait for the weekend to officially begin so have at it people.
Enjoy the weekend.Love,Ify*
