Good evening Beautiful,I’m sitting here drinking warm almond milk and cinnamon researching all of these crazy CrossFit exercises because I so can’t wait to do more of them on my own. I know I know, I’m new and I should probably be taught how to do these things correctly by a certified CrossFit coach, but I have to do something in the meantime, and I work in a gym…. I have to be able to do some of these things myself. I was texting with Jason and he’s really assuring me that there are tons of helpful videos on YouTube and articles on the internet that tell me how to adapt the exercises to what I’m able to do.I did Angie on Monday (100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats for time) and now I’m craving more. He recommended I check out the CrossFit website or the CrossFit Liberty Village website and check out their daily WODs, and if I don’t know how to do an exercise for 3 in each WOD, research them and figure it out. For example, the WOD for today was 5 sets of 5 overhead squats and then AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) of 2 muscle-ups, 4 hand stand push-ups and 8 kettlebell swings. So here in lies the question – how the hell am I going to figure out how to do this myself…Well, I guess I just have to make a plan to something I know would suit me and my abilities, and the fact that I’ve never done 75% (3 of 4 exercises) before and I know I’m not strong enough to do hand stand push-ups, so there’s that. So here’s what I’m thinking:5 sets of 5 over head squats (I’m going to start by using just a bar which is 45lbs and if I find that hard, I’ll take it down to a different type of bar)
20 minutes AMRAP
2 muscle ups (Jason said that I could do 4 pull-ups and 4 dips for every 1 muscle up – so I will attempt that)
4 hand stand push-ups (I will do all pushups from my toes)
8 kettlebell swings (I can do these fine)**So I think this will be my work out tomorrow plus maybe some cardio on the elliptical (still can’t run… since yesterday) to burn some serious calories, which I need since I’ve stopped running.Tonight was volleyball night, and well, we played MUCH better than we did last week. I mean, like 1000% better. Last week, team To Kill A Blocking Nerd was ass. Literally, we were doing nothing right and there wasn’t one person to blame, it was EVERYONE. Tonight however, we somewhat kicked ass. We won 1 of our 6 games like usual, but we played as a team SO WELL! I wasn’t ever frustrated, I was having a ton of fun, and the night flew by. A team mate of mine (Daniel) even complimented me on how well I was playing! He was totally right, I felt so good about my game tonight. I mean, I screwed up a few times, but our team wasn’t losing because of me which was a nice change of pace.**random side comment. The Kettlebell swings as part of my workout is supposed to use a kettlebell that is 1.5-pood. If you have no idea what this word means, you’re not alone because I was like “Pood – what the hell is pood?” so I googled-it (one word). Turns out 1 pood equals 36lbs. WHAT THE HECK! Who made this “pood” measurement, and WHY are we using it in Canada? Anyways – that’s my random side comment. For all of you that know me well, you know that I LOVE SHOES. Like, I have a problem. I take up most of the shoe rack C and I bought that’s supposed to hold like 20 pairs of shoes, and I take up all of the drawers on a tall skinny dresser that we have, plus the shoes that are kept in the main closet and on the floor, and in the car, and in my cubicle, plus shoes that my parents still have from when I moved to Toronto and tried to down size. It’s been my dream to someday own a pair of Christian Louboutin black pumps. For some of you, you are googling what the heck a Christian Louboutin is, right? But for the other folks, you’re probably like OH MY GOD I WANT THEM TOO! I understand. They are red soled black beauties that I'm assuming every girl would die for. They’re like, the bacon of shoes, the are the Tiffany’s of shoes, they are the JP Arencibia of shoes (I love him). But alas, said Christian Louboutin black pumps are going to put me back about $800. I’ve recently paid off my credit card and really couldn’t justify just splurging, “treating” myself (more like making this one purchase and not shopping for the rest of the calendar year) so I decided to open a tax free savings account dedicated to my Louboutins. Really – I kid you not. I even nick named the account “Loubies”. I’m the kind of person that can’t save money unless it’s automatically taken from my bank account that I can access, and put into a savings account that I cannot access. I’ve always been this way. I have savings accounts going for a vacation, a down-payment, an RRSP and now my Loubies. My goal is to purchase them in the beginning of August 2013 so I can wear them to my company’s awards gala in 2013. I can do this – I will do this. I can also justify it a lot more if I’m saving for like 15 months for something rather than splurging. Do you think I’m absolutely crazy for spending $800 on some black high heels? Or are you on my side and able to justify the fact that I’m saving for them for over a year? Comment and let me know!On the topic of shoes…. Today I came across this website, JustFab (click here to go there) and it’s ALL SHOES… and they’re cheap! If you sign up for their VIP package (it’s free, but read the details, you can’t just ignore your account or you’ll be charged the price of a pair of shoes!) you get 50% off your first purchase. I come some blush coloured pumps today and with shipping it cost me only $28! Steal!! I couldn’t say no. I’m actually bad to saying no to shoes in general, so I tend not to go into shoe stores when I’m at the mall, I know I’ll cave every time!I also just wanted to take a couple lines and thank you all so much for reading! I really do love the fact that you read this, and I love when you comment and let me know your thoughts! It means the world to me!Stay sweet.
