Planning My Life

By Kaidarul @KaiDarul
Few weeks back, I’ve been wondering what to do with our abandoned house here in Tawi-Tawi. I’ve been thinking about renovations per se. We’ve been staying at my cousins’ since we came back home. Living at your own space comes with great comfort, I can attest to that. You are free what to do with everything in your peripheral.
#Strategize
Last night, however, mom and I had our usual chitchats about life. And she suggested that I laid back my plans for our house. Instead, she recommended that I plan my life first, specifically my career. That was the greatest suggestion I received, so far. Mothers really know best. As the night came to fade, plans keep on circling in my head. Sometimes, when we have so much in mind, we never know what to do first.
Again, I am to prioritize everything – from mini details to bigger decisions. “What do I see myself five, ten, fifty years from now” is a big question. I have to think of my growth in terms of physical, financial, spiritual, and mental. We all have to have goals set. We all have to have some objectives to motivate our daily living. We have to eventually be ready for what will unfold in front of us. If not, how will we face tomorrow?
#Organize
I asked myself. What do I really want? What do I aspire of becoming? Am I ready? What preparations have I done so far? Still circled. Still undecided.
I know, I want to live somewhere far. I want to finish something. I want to engage in something. I am going to put those in my personal journal – not in here.
The road to my goals in 5, 10 and 50-year time will not be easy. But, as my mother would always say, “Endure. If it is Allaah’s will, he will let you win no matter what.” At least for now, I am more than motivated to cultivate my fate, with the approval of my beloved mother and the help and will of Allaah.
Do you have a vision of what you will also be in 5 years? 10? 50? If you have, let me know. And how would you prepare for it?
Glad tidings.
