Q: Sorry for too much information, I know it’s not piles as they are grape shaped aren’t they? This is like jelly bean shaped but not as fat. They go from my bum hole to where my vagina starts and it has started to bleed a tiny bit and it stings when I wee?
I’ve put sum Canesten cream on. It also is bright red blood with tissue in normal during a period. I went to the doctors and she said it is and some people have periods like that all the time?
A; They very much sound like piles and although these may go without treatment I always advise that you pop along to the chemist and buy over the counter treatments if your too embarrassed to go to your GP, as piles can be very uncomfortable and even painful.
I do not think that thrush cream will help you at all. Piles can and often do bleed hence the blood.
It will sting when you wee as they are being irritated by the urine, try and pour warm water onto that area as you wee, this will help dilute the urine.
Creams, ointments and suppositories, available over-the-counter from pharmacies, can be used to relieve any swelling and inflammation that you have around your back passage. However, they will only treat your symptoms and will not cure the haemorrhoids themselves.
The NHS website provides full details of the treatments that will be able to help you
Internal haemorrhoids;
These form in the back passage about 2-4 cm above the rim (opening) of the anus. Their severity and size are classified into grades 1 to 4:
Grade 1 are small swellings on the inside lining of the back passage. They cannot be seen or felt from outside the anus. Grade 1 haemorrhoids are common. In some people they enlarge further to grade 2 or more.
Grade 2 are larger. They may be partly pushed out (prolapse) from the anus when you go to the toilet, but quickly spring back inside again.
Grade 3 hang out (prolapse) from the anus. You may feel one or more as small, soft lumps that hang from the anus. However, you can push them back inside the anus with a finger.
Grade 4 permanently hang down from within the anus, and you cannot push them back inside. They sometimes become quite large.
