Pi Day is Coming Up, So Lets Celebrate by Making One of These Classic Pie Recipes! Yum.

“We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.”

I’m sorry, but I haven’t heard truer words, and as National Pi Day approaches (March 14th), I couldn’t help but become consumed with all things pie. Yes, I know that Pi and Pie are two EXTREMELY different things, but I’m not a math person. I never was, and I never will be. I’m a food person, so when someone says Pi, I think Pie.

Anyway, in my pie-preoccupation, I couldn’t help but scout out the best of the best when it comes to recipes for the most delicious takes on classic pies, both sweet and savory.

Pie is the perfect food, and it’s, well, as simple as pie. There is nothing as American as apple pie. Pot pie is wonderful to make with leftovers whether out of turkey, chicken, beef or just vegetables. If your fruit is a little soft you make a pie out of it. Apple, lemon meringue, berry, pecan, coconut cream, chocolate cream, key lime, pumpkin, and even mince meat, it is safe to say that I like pie. A lot.

I mean, what could be better on a hot Texas summer afternoon, than a cold and refreshing slice of perfectly tart and slightly sweet key lime pie? Maybe a glass of iced tea or even a slice of coconut cream pie, maybe, but little else could be better!

So check out my huge collection from Foodie.com of beautiful interpretations of classic pies! What’s YOUR favorite pie?
