Hello!
I first heard about Philosophy on the Style Network (a cable channel) – it was a behind-the-scenes special and they were showcasing how the Philosophy 3-in-1 Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath were manufactured and that was all I wanted from the brand. After Philosophy’s launch in Singapore, I discovered so many other goodies in their line-up, with the Holiday Collections being the launches I look forward to.
The Philosophy Holiday Collection 2013 is laden with delicious-smelling treats that are perfect for gifting – for loved ones and yourself! With such cute vintage-themed packaging, you could even skip fancy wrapping – just plop the boxes and tins into cleanr cellophane wrap and tie it up with a ribbon and you’re good to go.
Let’s take a look at some of the offerings from Philosophy Holiday 2013, starting with the Bath & Body products.
Available in a range of dessert-inspired scents, the Philosophy 3-in-1 Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath are perfect for gifting. At S$38 each, the mid-priced shower-gels come in mostly sweet scents for the holidays – if you love your cookies and cakes, be sure to check out Homemade Honey Buns and Sweet Fluffy Cupcake. The only downside is the scent doesn’t linger too long on skin but leaves your bathroom smelling wonderful.
The Cookbook is a 3-in-1 Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath Sampler set – it consists of 4 different scents (120ml per scent) and retails at S$60. These are perfect for frequent travellers or for someone who wants to try a variety of scents. If you’re putting together gift hampers for friends and family, sets like these are great for splitting up too.
Also available in the limited edition Holiday Scents are Body Lotions (S$35 each) – these contain skin-loving ingredients like macadamia nut oil, olive fruit oils, shea butter and natural anti-oxidants to hydrate and soften skin.
For someone who wants both the 3-in-1 Shampoo, Shower Gel and Bubble Bath as well as a body lotion in a set, the Homemade Honey Buns Gift Duo is perfect at S$48. A rather value-for-money set, seeing how the full-sized body lotion (210ml) itself retails at S$35 while the body lotion in this set is even larger at 240ml.
The Holiday Handbook is another cute gifting option (as a set or split up for stocking stuffers) – a set of 3 Holiday scented Hand Creams at S$40.
I love this set – the Candied Pecan Salt Body Scrub is perhaps the best-smelling product in the entire collection! (I’m not sure if it retail on its own though). This set consists of the Candied Pecan Salt Body Scrub, a Vanilla Cake Mix 3-in-1 and a Cranberry Medley Body Lotion for S$60 in a festive holiday tin.
The cookie-themed Christmas Cookie Exchange (S$60) is another set that comes attractively packaged in the festive tin. This one contains 2 bath & body products as well as a Philosophy Lip Shine.
The dessert-flavoured Lip Shines also retail individually at S$18, which are good options if you’re looking for small gifts and stocking stuffers.
If you’re looking for small gifts but in the form of skincare, then the Philosophy Ornaments are a good option. These are available in 2 variants – Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser (S$17) and Hope In A Jar Moisturiser (S$22). These come in pre-packaged in a little gift box, a gift tag as well as a loop to hang on your tree. If you’re hosting a Christmas party for friends, these might be a lovely gift your guests can take off the tree themselves.
Philosophy also has fragrance layering sets – pictured above is the Mini Fragrance Layering Set (S$42.50) in Philosophy’s newer scent, Living Grace. It comprises a deluxe sized fragrance, a 3-in-1 and firming body emulsion in the same fragrance. This is also available in Philosophy’s best-selling fragrance, Amazing Grace (I adore Amazing Grace!). Philosophy has another set at S$88 which comes with a larger sized fragrance, 3-in-1 and whipped body creme available in the Pure Grace and Amazing Grace scents.
My favorite part of Philosophy’s Holiday 2013 Collection – the skincare sets!
Think Beautiful Thoughts (top; S$82) is a 5-piece radiance boosting set while The Care Package (S$155) is a complete skincare ritual. I’m gravitating more towards The Care Package because it contains the Microdelivery Peel (which was one of my best buys from Philosophy) – the Vitamin C Peptide Peel and Glycolic Acid gel leaves skin so clean and smooth, you’d want to keep touching it. This set also contains the Microdelivery Wash – I had a sample of this from a kind Philosophy BA at Sephora and that was perhaps one of the best exfoliating facial washes I’ve ever tried. Love this one.
Philosophy Singapore is running a little promotion – you can send Holiday Wishes to your loved ones via this link HERE
You can send your loved ones or friends wishes via this portal (all you need is their name and email address) and you will also be entitled to a 3-piece skincare kit from Philosophy. If 5000 wishes are sent by 15 Dec 2013, then all participants will receive a Lip Shine each, courtesy of the kind people at Philosophy. There are over 3000 more wishes to be sent! I’ve sent mine, send yours too!
