I am so excited about this post as it is a little something different for the blog, so I hope you like!
Now that the Sun has re-emerged in the UK that can only mean one thing; Spring is on it’s way! I love Spring and I love Spring colours and one of the biggest make up trends on the S/S13 catwalks was bold lips. Pink in particular was very popular and has been seen on everyone from Kristen Stewart to Rihanna.
I am a huge sucker for a bright pink lip and thought I would show you how to get a wow pout that will make an impact for parties, gigs or everyday if you are feeling brave and it will suit all skintones! Plus this is a tried and tested way of making sure your lip look lasts so you can translate this method to other bold colours from pillar box reds to dark wines. Before any step though, ensure your lips a moisturised and in good condition or else none of these products will sit nicely on your lips and this will affect their staying power.
Firstly you will need three products; lip liner, lipstick and lip gloss. You can always skip lipgloss if you prefer a matte finish. My perfect three for a pink lip are Look Beauty Loud Lip Liner in Rock Candy, Topshop Lips in All About Me and Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in 360 Fuchsia Fever. I find all these products really comfortable to wear and with high pigmentation.

The Look Beauty lip liner is a very Barbie pink and works great as a base. Gently draw around the shape of your lips with the pointed end and fill in gradually with the side of the pencil. Push your lips together, blot with a tissue and repeat.
Next gently push the lipstick over your lips. Once you have a full cover of colour, blot and repeat. You could use a lip brush too if you prefer but I prefer a less polished look.
Then take your gloss. This one by Rimmel is amazing as it is so pigmented you could actually wear this on its own if you didn’t have time for all three products. It feels smooth and creamy on the lips and doesn’t disturb the product underneath. It glides on to leave a wet, vinyl like finish to your lips which I think is amazing.
Then you are good to go! I love this look with a simple or bare eyelid and bronzer but you can amp up the drama for night with a flick of black gel liner.
Let me know if you like this post and what your favorite pink lip products are in the comments!
