Panasonic KX-PRX120 Offers Ice Cream Sandwich on a cordless phone

Panasonic has announced the KX-PRX120, first DECT cordless phone based on Google’s Android operating system, version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

A new generation of cordless (smart)phones

The 3.5-inch device comes with a slightly “dusty” Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich” on the market, but is expected to be the king among the landline cordless phones.

That being said, KX-PRX120 brings many new features and improvements compared to old traditional landline phones. So you can use about just about any Android app. According to Panasonic, user will even have access to the Google Play Store, to download new apps.

To all intents and purposes looks just like a smartphone, Panasonic KX-PRX120 is equipped with a 3.5 ” touchscreen TFT display (320 x 480 pixels – HVGA), 0.3 MP front camera and expandable memory via microSD / microSDHC, all that supported by a 1450 mAh battery. Connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device allows access to the Google Play Store to download apps and video calls can be made via Skype / Google Hangouts. The KX-PRX120 also has an integrated answering machine for up to 40 minutes of recording time.
