Pamper Night : Facial

Day 6 – #Bigblogmasproject2014

facials-2

Hey there,

I’m not sure about you but I’m definitely finding myself reaching for the thick wooly socks, extra layers and dressing gowns every evening. The temperature has definitely dropped, meaning more hot baths, hot water bottles, and of course cosy nights in.

Being a Beauty Therapist, and of course a Beauty Blogger obsessed with skincare, I’m always stressing how important it is to take extra care of your skin at this time of year, whether that means adding in a facial oil or richer night cream to your daily routine, or going for a regular facial. Now that we have an excuse to hibernate under blankets, watching films on repeat, what better way to spend it than with a little pamper session?

Here is my 5 step routine for a mini express facial at home, using my ‘most loved’ skincare products:

1 – Cleanse and tone, (Cleansing until all make up is removed)

My picks – Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm (£14.50), and L’Oreal Velvety Soft Toner (£3.99)

2 – Apply a facial oil, (Using a facial oil massage the face using upward movements for at least two minutes)

My picks – Elemis Skin Bliss Capsules (£49.99) or Botanics Organic Facial Oil (£9.99)

3 – Exfoliate, (Do not remove any of the excess oil before exfoliating)

My picks – Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator (£27.00) or Good Things Manuka Honey Scrub (£4.99)

4 – Apply a face mask

My picks – Origins Drink Up (£23.00) or Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic (£6.50)

5 – Moisturise

My picks – Clarins Multi Active Day Cream (£36.00) or The Body Shop Vitamin E cream (£11.00)

Having the girls around and a take out would be just perfect, although the nutritional content wouldn’t be beneficial to the facial.

What is your idea of a cosy night in? Do you give yourself regular facials at home? What are your ‘go to’ products for a pampering facial?

Lots of love,

KBxx
