I came up with the idea to create a Orange Bourbon BBQ Sauce awhile back and finally got around to it. Its so much easier then I thought it'd be :-)
Orange Bourbon BBQ Sauce4 T Apple Cider Vinegar 1 1/2 C Ketchup3 T Canola Oil1/2 Onion Diced2 Garlic Cloves minced1 T Orange Marmalade1 T Tangerine Zest4 Tsp Bourbon or add to taste1 Tsp Sea Salt1/4 C Brown Sugar2 T Worsteshire Sauce
In a pan add your oil and heat it up. Then add your onions and garlic. Sautee till soft. Add the rest of your ingredients minus your Bourbon. Let it simmer for 20 minutes. Taste it at that point to see if you want to add more spices, sugar or liquids. Then add your Bourbon. You can add to taste. I simmered it for another 20 minutes to half hour. Make sure you stir frequently. Then you can use it on chicken or any other things that you want bbq on. It makes about a a cup and a half. So double it if you want. I would.
