OF VISITING HOME AND ALL THE NOSTALGIA

Hello lovely people!! I am back after being fully recharged from a quick trip to India. It had been almost a year that I had been away and it was the longest for me as I have never been away this long from home. Though I have been living outside India off and on for almost five years now, but home is where your heart is. And in my case, there is no question where my heart remains OF VISITING HOME AND ALL THE NOSTALGIA

India trips are always high on energy with unending lists of pending stuff including meeting old friends, relatives, shopping, food and what not. And we generally make it a point to visit home during the DIWALI time, which is a favorite time for most of Indians to visit home. Diwali is a mesmerizing festival for me, when I get to meet lots of people, with late night card parties, the mithaais (indian sweets), the rangolis and diyaas, the wonderful paths and poojas, the candles lit at the gurudwaras. Diwali has always been and will remain my favorite festival and I just love the traditional bits attached to it. It is so wonderful to see my little one enjoying this festival as much as I do and is just so delightful to watch her all twinkle eyed during the festivities and to educate her about the whole merry-making.

There are loads of people whom I couldn't meet on this trip and really hope that I get to see them soon. But it was just great hanging around in my old surroundings and with the people that I know are there for me and care. It is always surprising, the amount of positivity and good things that you carry back from such short but soul enriching trips.

I'll be back soon with some interesting posts soon. Keep watching this space for more!!
