One of the 2016 NIVEA Summer Outing's highlights which certainly delivered on "Aww" points when it was presented to us was the reveal of the NIVEA Sun Doll, a toy developed to teach children the value of applying sun protection. Imagine our juvenile squeals of delight when we were told after being shown this official Nivea Sun Doll video that we were each about to be given our very own Nivea doll. Yes, girl and boy dolls are available.
Nivea Philippines has not yet confirmed their entry into local retail, but they'd most certainly be very, very welcome here, especially before summer. Read on to see how UV affects the doll to raise kids' awareness and watch the official video.
Tested in Rio de Janeiro, Nivea stepped in to help address the obvious problem of children avoiding sunscreen application before playing outside. First, you place the doll in direct sunlight.
Then watch as the dolls react to UV rays and appear sunburned until taken away from exposure to the sun or when Nivea sunblock is applied. Yes, I'm not kidding, real sunblock apparently also works on fake sunburn, haha. Watch Nivea's official video on the doll in action below.
